Interview with Mike Kowalczyk on AFG Law’s Transition to Diktamen Cloud Digital Dictation

Mike Kowalczyk, IT Manager at AFG Law, shares his experience of moving the firm from BigHand to Diktamen Cloud Digital Dictation, highlighting how it has improved workflows, staff efficiency, and IT management.

Mike Kowalczyk: “I’m the IT Manager at AFG Law, responsible for overseeing technology strategy, infrastructure, and digital solutions for the firm.”

Mike Kowalczyk: “Our previous solution was cumbersome. It required an on-premises server, and while they had a cloud option, it wasn’t competitively priced. We needed a modern, cost-effective solution that was easier to manage.”

Mike Kowalczyk: “By chance, I saw a comment online recommending Diktamen. I did a bit of research and realised it offered the same functionality as our current provider, but better and at half the price. It was a pleasant surprise to find such an effective alternative.”

Mike Kowalczyk: “The trial was seamless. The system was intuitive, simple to use, and addressed all the limitations of our previous solution. The onboarding and support from the Diktamen team were excellent—any issues were resolved immediately, even bugs I flagged were fixed the same day.”

Mike Kowalczyk: “Absolutely. Out of dozens of vendors I’ve worked with, Diktamen is one of only a couple I’d blindly recommend. Their support, reliability, and ease of use make them a top choice for law firms.”

Mike Kowalczyk: “Yes, we’re currently reviewing our outdated case management system and exploring several modern platforms that integrate seamlessly with our existing tools, including Diktamen. Our goal is to enable users to dictate directly into the system, eliminating the need to duplicate work. It was also important that our new dictation solution operates smoothly within our VDI environment — something we’ve successfully achieved. We’re continuing to assess multiple providers as part of our wider digital transformation strategy.”
