Signature Litigation Transitions to Diktamen Cloud Digital Dictation

Signature Litigation recently completed a pilot of the Diktaman cloud digital dictation solution as part of an initiative to improve their internal dictation tools following ongoing challenges with their previous legacy provider.

According to IT consultant David Baskerville, the firm faced consistent technical issues with their legacy provider’s cloud offering, including multiple outages over a short period, poor customer support, and unresolved login issues. These problems were especially disruptive for key stakeholders, such as the firm’s senior partner, who relies exclusively on digital dictation for all communications. “It’s a critical system for the firm,” Baskerville explained. “As he doesn’t type his own emails, the extended downtime was incredibly frustrating.”

The pilot of Diktaman got off to a rocky start with a brief outage in the first week on the test server. However, the platform has since shown stable performance. Baskerville noted improvements in the ease of use from a dictation point of view, citing user-friendly navigation and the ability to scroll through and send dictations more efficiently.

Baskerville and Gooden both highlighted Diktamen’s transparent and proactive communication, something they felt set the company apart from previous suppliers. “It gave us confidence that the right things were happening behind the scenes,” Baskerville said. They also praised Diktamen’s responsiveness to feedback and their collaborative approach to customisation. “It feels more like a partnership,” said Baskerville. “They’ve listened to concerns and either taken action or clearly communicated what’s in the roadmap.”

While it’s early to fully recommend the platform, Signature is cautiously optimistic. Adoption beyond their core group of long-time dictation users will depend on further refinements, especially to the PA experience. Both interviewees noted that while newer generations may be more accustomed to voice input via tools like Teams or voice notes, they still see potential for digital dictation, particularly with emerging features like task tracking.

The firm expressed interest in Diktaman’s upcoming task management feature, which allows users to log voice instructions as actionable items within the workflow. “That could be a really good fit,” Baskerville said. “We don’t have workflow in place now, so it could serve as a light version of that, especially for onboarding or internal instructions.”

David Baskerville: “Diktaman feels more like a partnership than a product. The team really listened to our concerns and acted on them quickly — or clearly explained what’s coming next. That level of engagement gave us confidence.

Alison Gooden, Senior PA at Signature Litigation said, “Supporting the pilot project was easy — the team was incredibly responsive, and it helped us make refinements we needed quickly.

Joe DiCarlo, VP of Business Development at Diktamen, added: “Signature Litigation represents a modern, dynamic firm, and we’re proud to support their transition. Our focus is always on delivering adaptable and user-friendly solutions to meet each firm’s unique needs.”
