Innovation in Focus: John Evans at Medilink Midlands Innovation Day

Our Head of Healthcare, John Evans, attended the Medilink Midlands Innovation Day 2025 yesterday, part of Life Sciences Week. The event brought together innovators, academics, and industry leaders to explore the latest developments in healthcare, medtech, and life sciences.

John had an insightful discussion with Dr. Ewa Truchanowicz FRSA about the AI Scribes market and the evolving landscape of Medical Device regulation. With AI rapidly moving into healthcare workflows, these conversations highlighted both the opportunities and the regulatory hurdles that must be navigated.

He also attended a panel chaired by Dr. Truchanowicz on the future of AI, Data & Precision Medicine, featuring experts Maryam Hasanova, Prof. Gino Martini, and David Hawkins. The session explored how AI and data-driven approaches are shaping the future of patient care, raising both exciting possibilities and important ethical questions. (Pictures to follow soon!)

Beyond the panel discussions, John connected with a wide range of suppliers showcasing solutions around medical device regulation and AI-driven healthcare projects. He also had the chance to chat with Jamshaid Sheikh Hameed from Blum, gaining further perspective on innovation in the healthcare technology space.

“The event had some good and interesting suppliers around Medical Device regulation with some exciting AI projects too. All part of Life Sciences Week — I’d certainly go again.”John Evans
