Strengthening Finnish–British Collaboration in Digital Health

Earlier this week, Diktamen’s CEO, Olavi Valkama, and Head of Healthcare UK, John Evans, attended the Business Finland Ambassadors Reception – Accelerating British-Finnish Collaboration on Digital Health, hosted by The Ambassador of Finland to the United Kingdom, Mr. Teemu Turunen, at the Ambassador’s residence in London.

The event brought together leaders from across the Finnish and UK healthcare innovation ecosystem, including representatives from Business Finland, NHS England, and a range of digital health companies. The focus was on exploring new opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing between the two countries — both recognised globally for their advances in digital health.

Throughout the afternoon, attendees heard insightful keynote presentations from Dr Päivi Sillanaukee, Special Envoy for Health and Wellbeing at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health Finland, and Dr Arrash Yassaee, Deputy Director (MedTech Innovation) at NHS England. These talks set the stage for engaging discussions on how Finland’s strength in health data utilisation and the UK’s leading health technology innovation can complement each other to improve patient outcomes and healthcare efficiency.

As a company dedicated to enhancing clinical documentation through intelligent voice-capture solutions, Diktamen is proud to contribute to this dialogue. Our technology empowers clinicians to streamline administrative tasks, improve the accuracy of patient records, and ultimately dedicate more time to patient care.

We believe that partnerships and collaboration are essential to driving healthcare transformation, and we were delighted to exchange ideas with fellow innovators who share this vision.

John Evans, Head of Healthcare UK, Diktamen:

“It was a privilege to take part in such a well-organised and forward-thinking event. The discussions highlighted how the UK and Finland can complement each other’s strengths in digital health, particularly in creating technology that truly supports clinicians. At Diktamen, we’re passionate about reducing the administrative load on healthcare professionals so they can focus on what matters most — their patients.”

Olavi Valkama, CEO, Diktamen:

“We greatly appreciate the opportunity to engage with leaders shaping the future of healthcare in both countries. The reception provided an inspiring platform for collaboration, and we see strong potential for partnerships that can bring real, measurable benefits to healthcare delivery. Finland and the UK share a deep commitment to innovation, and together, we can make a lasting impact.”

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Business Finland, the Finnish Embassy in London, and all participants for organising and supporting such an inspiring event.
